Celler Miquel Roca

Celler Miquel Roca

Celler Miquel Roca is a small family winery that is surrounded by a privileged environment. It is located in the village of Sant Cristòfol de la Vall, in the Vall de Barcedana, and fifteen minutes from the Terradets reservoir. This valley is located at the foot of Montsec, specifically on the northern slope of Montsec de Rúbies, in the region of Pallars Jussà (Lleida).

After several generations making wine, Miquel Roca decided to build the winery thirty years ago to dedicate himself to it professionally and currently the generational relay continues on the part of his daughter.

The commitment to the quality of the final product is the basis of the way of working of this winery, which believes in minimal intervention both in the treatment of the vines and in the production of the wine. Although the production of bottles is currently quite small, the aim is to expand it a little in the next few years, and especially to promote indigenous varieties.

The microclimate of this valley located in the Catalan Pre-Pyrenees, classified as mountain Mediterranean, is very favorable for the cultivation of grapes. Good insolation and the thermal contrast (temperature difference between day and night) are the main factors that favor good ripening and quality of the grapes.
